Phil Davis

is pastor of Faith Community Church. He and his wife Shanna have 3 children – Lucy (born 2002), Clark (born 2004), and Piper (born 2008). Phil graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, in 2003 and worked as an assistant pastor of missions and church-planting at Uptown Church. He and his family moved to Prague in 2005 and started a home Bible study, which eventually became Faith Community Church in April 2007. Phil also serves on the board of Riverside School in Prague.  He enjoys biking, especially with his family, and has recently embraced winter sports too.

Jake Hunt

is Assistant Pastor at Faith Community Church. He grew up in Georgia (USA) and occasionally studied English at the University of Georgia, where he also met Melissa and listened to a lot of music. He worked in campus ministry at UGA, then attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC (where he studied much more diligently). While at RTS he also worked at Uptown Church, which sent out the initial team that planted Faith Community. Toward the end of school the Hunts visited the team in Prague, and ultimately felt God’s call to join them.

Jake and Melissa have 2 boys, Sam (born 2007) and Foard (born 2009), and a daughter Eliza (born 2012). In addition to being a husband and dad, Jake loves music, books, running, food and drink, and witty banter.

Jessica Forbes

works with Worship and Women’s Ministry at Faith Community Church. She was born and raised in Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia and earned her degree in Child & Family Development. Upon graduation, Jessica worked as a worship intern at UGA’s Wesley Foundation for two years. There she enjoyed leading worship and was given the opportunity to do short term missions in New York, Costa Rica, and South Africa. Jessica then went on to work at UGA as the project coordinator for a grant that assist people with disabilities. During this time God began to shape, establish, and confirm His calling on her life for missions. After a providential meeting with some old friends at a gas station, Jessica was invited to go on a short-term mission trip to Prague, Czech Republic. During her week in Prague, she felt God’s call to unite her love of music with her passion for missions and joined the team. Jessica enjoys baking banana bread, listening to music, reading, spending time with friends over coffee, walking in Stromovka, and watching fireworks over the Vltava.

Betsy Kenney

Betsy’s main duties on staff include discipling, teaching, and praying.  She is a wife, mom of four, and new grandmother who married her high school sweetheart.  She has an associate degree in nursing but considers her most useful education to have come from doing life the hard way…..on her own.  She and Bob settled into life in Betsy’s hometown of Simpsonville, SC.  After years of pursuing the American dream only to find herself empty and exhausted, the Holy Spirit got ahold of her and turned her world upside down.  She and Bob were invited to join their family, already serving in Prague.  In their freshly discovered freedom and joy, they packed up and joined family and the World Harvest Team serving in Prague.

Betsy enjoys good conversation and good coffee, decorating her home and sharing it with guests, walking and Pilates.

Bob Kenney

is a husband and father, and both a local businessman and Faith Community staff member.  He enjoys sports and outdoor activities, playing with kids, and being with his wife Betsy.  Bob has a degree in accounting from Clemson University, but has spent most of his business career in the field of information technology.  His staff duties include praying, discipleship/teaching, and assisting the church in serving the community.  Bob grew up as a Christian, but had a spiritual “heart attack” in 2005, meaning God opened his eyes to grace and sovereignty in a way that he had not heard/understood before.  After wrestling with God, Bob knew that he couldn’t stay where he was, so he pursued God’s will to come to Prague, where the Kenneys arrived in the fall of 2010.
